As a PTSA we are always looking for passionately committed individuals to jump in, become involved and make a difference in our school and the lives of the children we are here to serve! Adopt a Class Campaign
The Adopt a Class campaign raises funds for our classroom teachers. We hope to have each teacher sponsored by a generous Dolphin family or local business. Our goal is to provide each teacher with $250 for miscellaneous projects, student incentives, supplies, etc. Donors will be recognized in a variety of ways, including inclusion on an engraved list of donors prominently displayed in the school’s main office.

Teachers Mini Grant
The PTA’s mission is to assist our classroom teachers, and faculty, in enriching and enhancing the academic environment of the students at David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center. Through our Teacher Mini Grant program, we hope to fund proposals for teachers and staff who have ideas for creative, innovative educational projects for which funding is not available through regular school sources! The application deadlines are September 5th, November 14th, and January 23rd

Become a volunteer
If you would like to volunteer for any of our events or committees or help in your child's classroom and on field trips, you must be registered with Miami-Dade County Public Schools and have a volunteer number. You can do this though the Parent Portal.
Parent Portal
This web site allows parents and/or guardians to monitor their child’s attendance, grades, and access online textbooks! In order to provide you with your individual log in and password, please complete the form below and return it to your child’s teacher as soon as possible. If you already have a log-in from last year, you do not need to complete this form. The PTA hosts an annual Parent Portal information session at the beginning of each school year and the date is listed on the form. Upon receipt of your individual log in and password information, you will also need the following information to create a new parent account: (1) Your child's MDCPS student ID, (2) Parent 6 Digit PIN number (To obtain you must visit your child's school), (3) Student’s Date of Birth (DOB), (4) Student birth place State or Country, (5) Zip Code.
